Serves 12 servings


  • 3 slices Wholemeal bread crusts removed
  • 1/2 cup (140g) tomato sauce
  • 12 cocktail frankfurters (cheerios)
  • 1/4 cup (60g) butter melted


  • Preheat oven 180C.
  • Line a tray with baking paper.
  • Gently pierce the frankfurters all over with a fork.
  • Using a rolling pin, roll out the slices of bread to flatten slightly.
  • Spread tomato sauce on the bread, then cut into quarters.
  • Place frankfurter diagonally on each quarter of bread. Bring up edges and secure with a toothpick.
  • Brush the bread liberally with the melted butter. Place onto prepared tray and bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until the bread is lightly browned and crispy.
  • Serve warm.
