Dirty Steak

Serves 2 servings


  • 3 teaspoons granulated coffee crushed to powder
  • 1 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 3 tablespoons grated 70% cocoa chocolate
  • 400 gram rib fillet, skirt or rump steak


  • Preheat a BBQ or grill pan to high.
  • Bring together the ground coffee, chili and chocolate and season with sea salt and cracked pepper.
  • Massage the mixture into the meat, slathering it sinfully.
  • Grill.
  • Cooking for 3 to 4 minutes either side for medium doneness, remove, cover with foil and rest for 5 minutes.
  • Slice to serve 2 passionate people.
